Princess Arena

"Personally, I don't see much of a point in fighting opponents we can't eat." - Pericone, on the Arena

Overview

Similar to the Battle Arena, Princess Arena is a PvP game mode that players participate in to earn Princess Arena Coins, Jewels, and purchase Character Shards. Unlike Battle Arena, Princess Arena is a series of three 5v5 character battles in comparison to the one-off 5v5 character battle in the Battle Arena. Princess Arena features its own separate ranking and bracketing system in comparison to Battle Arena and is unlocked after clearing Main Story Quest 8-15 on Normal (also representing the end of the currently available content).

Princess Arena Unlocking Strategy

As characters cannot be in two different parties nor will parties interact with each other, Princess Arena requires 3 full teams for success. This can be a hard barrier to entry for players that rush to complete all available Main Story Content without taking some time to level, ascend, and fully equip characters along the way.

Players looking to accelerate their progress in the Princess Arena may want to plan when they unlock the game mode (after clearing Main Story Mission 8-15) with a live community such as the /r/Priconne Discord to ensure they unlock the Princess Arena when a new "bracket" opens. Brackets represent a certain group of players, and unlocking Princess Arena when a new bracket opens may allow players to face easier or newer opponents than if they were to unlock Princess Arena and be added to an established or older bracket.

15v15 Battles

In Princess Arena, as with Battle Arena, you are able to see your opponent's three Defense Teams before committing to a battle. Players can use this foresight to draft parties that can counter or overpower their opponent's team. Since only 2/3 of the battles need to be won in order for the Princess Arena battle series to be considered a victory, it is possible to win with a minimum of two viable teams. However, as three teams must be drafted, it is recommended to draw at least 15 characters in order to have three teams.

Party creation is similar to Battle Arena and other game modes, with players having access to their roster and being able to create parties on the fly or pull from their saved party configurations.

Your Defense Team

While players attack others to increase their arena rank, it is important to remember that the same thing is happening to them. Players are able to set a "Princess Arena Defense Team," which will be the teams that appear to others when they are available as an opponent. As rank is swapped whenever a player wins or is defeated by another attacking player, it is important to make sure your Arena Defense Team is strong enough to repel an attack. There are a few basic things to keep in mind when it comes to defending against a player:

  1. If a battle times out, the attacking player is considered the loser. This means using a very tanky or stalling team is a viable strategy for an Arena Defense Team as the burden is then on the attacking team to do enough damage (i.e. you are a DPS check).

  2. Priconne does not seemingly grant a bonus to the attacking team and battles are set to Auto, so there is very little room for player intervention. This means that teams with specific strategies (e.g. a TP nuke) can still work even when on the defending side of the battle

When a player's Arena Defense Team successfully defends against an attack, the defending player is rewarded with 10 Princess Arena Coins. These Coins are sent to the defender's Presents Box and Defense Rewards are available 5 times per day. A popup window will appear on the Battle Arena screen if the Defense Team successfully defended an attack.

Rewards and Princess Arena Coins

Players that are able to maintain a particular ranking in the Princess Arena will receive Princess Arena Coins at a specific rate. These coins, while represented as Coins per Hour, are actually generated every few minutes at the listed rate. Coins can be collected on the Princess Arena Shop screen and are spendable at the Princess Arena Shop.
